I AM ISIAH's does age appropriate presentations on depression and mental illness in local schools.  Every day in the United States over 5,400 teens in grades 7-12 attempt suicide. We spread the awareness to children in these grades that suicide is not the answer and educate them on the warning signs of depression and suicide.

I AM ISIAH also does presentations at nursing homes for the elderly, their care givers and their families. Elderly suicide is a very serious problem. Although the elderly (age 65 and older) comprise about 13% of the U.S. population, they account for over 18% of all suicides. Feelings of isolation, sadness and depression are common as our lives change as we age.

Talking to parents about their children's mental health is another objective of I AM ISIAH. Too often, parents dismiss a child's actions as "acting out" or "attention seeking". Four out of five teens who attempt or complete suicide have given clear, obvious signs.

I AM ISIAH is a 501 c-3 nonprofit organization. We depend on donations and fundraisers to keep our organization open. We are very thankful to the community for supporting our efforts. If you are interested in making a donation, visit our "help support us" page.
