" Because when our basic needs are met, feelings of depression and                                              hopelessness lessen."                                                                                                                                                              Toni Brinson                                                                                                                                        I AM ISIAH VP 2013-2014

Money was raised by the I AM ISIAH committee to purchase food and turkeys. We filled bags with everything needed for a holiday dinner. Our hope was to alleviate financial stress for some local families. The event was a huge success.

In November of 2013, I AM ISIAH held a turkey and food basket giveaway. The event was held at the Ryan Center in Rochester, N.Y.  150 families received food baskets and turkeys for Thanksgiving. Rochester's YNN covered the giveaway.

In November of 2016, I AM ISIAH held a Toy Drive. Our volunteer Mark Hansen was interviewed in a local newspaper talking about the toy drive. 68 children in the Rochester area were sponsored by our organization. R COMMUNITY BIKES donated 40 bikes to our event. Each child was hand picked by the social workers at area schools. We then held a holiday party complete with decorations, food, Santa and Mrs Claus, elves, crafts and presents, presents, presents! I AM ISIAH is thankful to every person in our community who donated toys through our organization!

*To protect our sponsored children's privacy, we refrain from sharing pictures of them on social media. We only shared photos of our volunteers and their families.

It made us realize that we really could make a difference in our community. In the last 3 years, our committee members have volunteered at soup kitchens and donated food to the Baden Street Settlement House. We have also done a winter coat drive for the Open Door Mission's Caring Center and collected 57 winter coats to be given away to those in need.
